Life at Casa Rana: Fruit Trees, Waterfall and Local Wood
More than 11,000 square meters of tropical land above Marbella, with fruit trees, a stream and a seasonal waterfall.

Mango, lime, guanabana, guaba, banana, plantain, cashew fruit, jocote and star fruit grow across the property. Our cacao trees were planted three years ago under the guidance of a 93-year-old local farmer, on the upper and lower property near the stream and waterfall.
Juanilama grows in several spots around the property, and we brew it as hot or iced tea. Lemongrass is abundant too, a favorite for tea and a traditional remedy for colds.
Vetiver grows throughout the upper and lower property, holding the soil and channeling rainwater. We also sell vetiver to people building homes who need plants for landscape drainage and soil retention.
During the rainy season, the stream on the property fills and a waterfall comes to life, with cacao trees planted nearby.
Casa Rana looks south over the Pacific Ocean and the forests of Guanacaste, with sunsets over the hills around Marbella. Playa Marbella is about 1 km away.
The architecture and furniture at Casa Rana are built from local teak, Guanacaste and pochote woods.
